What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. Cookies let a site remember your actions and preferences over time, so you do not have to re-enter them on every page or every visit.

Similar technologies work in much the same way, including browser local storage, session storage and small tracking pixels. Where this policy says "cookies", it covers all of these.

Cookies on this website

The onyxlabs.ae website uses analytics to understand how visitors find and use it: Google Analytics (visits, pages and traffic sources), Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and recordings of how pages are scrolled and clicked, with text you type and other sensitive content masked), and a simple page-view record on our own server. It does not use advertising cookies. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked before any analytics runs; everyone else can switch it off at any time under Managing your cookie choices. Our forms still do not send what you type to us: we only record that a form was opened or sent and which topic was chosen. Everything this website can store in your browser is listed below.

To show fonts, icons and page components, the website loads some files from third-party content delivery networks. As with any web request, those networks receive standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type, under their own policies. We do not use them to set cookies or to track you. Google and Microsoft process analytics data under their own privacy terms; Clarity masks text fields and other sensitive content by default.

Why our platforms use cookies

On ShipScout and TradeVerify, cookies help us:

  • Keep you signed in and secure your session while you use the platform
  • Remember your settings, such as language, saved filters and display preferences
  • Understand which pages and features are used, so we can improve them
  • Measure whether our marketing reaches the right audience
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and automated scraping of our data

Categories of cookies on our platforms

  • Strictly necessary. Required for the platform to work. They handle sign-in, session security, load balancing and fraud prevention. They cannot be switched off, because the platform cannot function without them.
  • Performance and analytics. Collect aggregated information about how visitors use the platform, such as which pages are visited and where errors occur, so we can fix problems and improve the product. On TradeVerify this includes tools that capture how visitors use the site, such as clicks, scrolling, session replays and heatmaps.
  • Functional. Remember choices you make, such as your preferred language or a dismissed notice, so the platform behaves the way you left it.
  • Marketing and advertising. Help us measure the performance of our campaigns and show relevant advertising on third-party platforms. These are optional.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies on our platforms are set by services we use rather than by us. These may include analytics providers, advertising platforms, review platforms, live chat and support tools, and our payment gateway. Those providers set and read their own cookies under their own privacy and cookie policies. We are not responsible for the policies of websites we link to, and if you give information to those third parties, different rules may apply.

How long cookies last

  • Session cookies are deleted as soon as you close your browser or sign out.
  • Persistent cookies remain for a set period so we can recognise your browser on a later visit. Ours are set for up to 24 months and are refreshed when you return.

You can delete any cookie at any time through your browser settings, whatever its stated lifetime.

Managing your cookie choices

  • On our platforms. Where a consent banner is shown, you can accept or decline non-essential cookies, and change that choice later.
  • On this website. Use the switch below to turn analytics on or off at any time. Press Play motion in the footer or menu to remove the stored motion choice, or clear the site data for onyxlabs.ae in your browser.
  • In your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and can warn you before a cookie is stored. Look under Settings, then Privacy.
  • On advertising platforms. The major advertising platforms provide their own opt-out controls in your account settings on those platforms.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you from signing in to our platforms and will prevent parts of them from working. Blocking optional cookies does not affect your access to the service.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for how websites must respond to it, so we do not currently change our behaviour based on that signal. You can still control cookies using the options above.

Cookies and payments

Card payments on our platforms are handled by our payment gateway on its own secure pages. We do not use cookies to capture, read or store card numbers, CVV values or bank credentials. All credit and debit card details and personally identifiable information will not be stored, sold, shared, rented or leased to any third parties.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to meet requirements and standards, for example if we add new tools to this website. Changes take effect on the day they are posted, and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows the latest revision. We encourage you to visit this page regularly.
